Hearst Castle San Simeon

Then, we stop at Hearst Castle. Hearst formally named the estate "La Cuesta Encantada" (The Enchanted Hill). It was designed by architect Julia Morgan.
They sell antiques and collection of arts inside the visitor center, on the main entrance.
On the way here, we saw a pier on the other side of the Hearst Castle, so we decided to walk there, it was about 20 minutes walk. There were an open-range farm along the way to the pier. The view was so beautiful.
It's been a while I haven't seen this kind of scenery since I left for Montreal.
I used to jog on the side of a lake near my aunt's house in Montreal and the view was almost like this.

It was almost twilight when we continue our road-trip to San Franciso. We were all sore from walking, but it was worth all of the photoshoots and the beautiful scene along the way.

Velkommen til Solvang!

We took a tour to San Francisco. But before we arrive in San Francisco, we made a stop at Solvang for a while.

Solvang also called a 'Danish Village', it is a beautiful little city in the Santa Ynez Valley of California. The place is famous for Danish pastries, there are also a lot of  fine restaurants and lovely shops.

We had lunch in 'The Red Viking' Restaurant. I didn't take all of the picture of our food, since we were quite rushing.
But here is one of them.
Grilled Salmon with Lemon Herb Sauce
Their desserts are pretty good too. The famous one is Aebleskivers with raspberry jam (the 3 balls with raspberry jam). They are like a waffle or a pancake formed like a tennis ball.

Even if I didn't have that much time to spend over here. I enjoyed the city so much, the antiques and old buildings to take pictures are awesome, and the pastries does describe the city .

Un Nouveau Départ - LA trip part I

Beautiful mess defines this past two years of mine. How life sometimes play around with you, messing up with you, not giving you a clear direction, yet in the end if you truly surrender to God, He derives it into a beautiful new beginning. He doesn't promise it's gonna be easy, but it will be worth it.
So, whatever things you are facing in your life right now never give up and stay positive.
That's how the name Beautiful Mess cross my mind.

However, last December my sweet younger sister asked me to come over to LA. She planned all the 10 days trip for us and we, undoubtedly, had a lot of fun there. She and her fiancé, celebrated my birthday once more in LA - after I had a birthday party with my friends in Seattle.

The dinner was in Drago Centro Restaurant - it is reviewed as one of the best fine dining in Downtown LA.

I was wearing this backless red dress from "Asos" and my favorite "Enzo Angiolini" stilett

"L’insalata di Mele"
pink lady apples, bacon, candied walnuts, arugula
"I gnocchi alla Romana"
semolina cake, oxtail ragout, gorgonzola cream
"La Bistecca"
new york steak, parmesan potatoes, pancetta, spinach
"Il Tiramisu"
tiramisu coupe, chocolate, amaretto, spumoni biscotti

It was a superbe dinner! Thank you again sister and bro in law :)

Hello 2013! The first month of this year has come to an end.
How should I start all over again? since I've been away from blogging for around 2 years.
And once I decided to write again, I change my blog's name into a more casual-easy to read name.
Yes, it is a Beautiful mess.

Rayé bleu et cuir

The weather was so nice few days ago. It's was mix sunny with breeze on the side of the lake - I supposed this was the last sunny day before this week started.
Anyway, I actually wasn't dress up to take a shoot since I was just planning to go to the bookstore in downtown..
So, this is just a casual look.

An oversize striped top with a leather short and an off-white color flats.

This leather short, I've been looking for a few months, but never find the precise one that I really like.
I finally found this one in H&M, this was the last pair. They just got this leather short in store and it was all sold out in a week!

I think striped pattern is never outmoded. You can pair it with plain color shorts, leather or jeans and it will give you a casual looks that's not out of fashion!

Thanks to Timotius Wibowo for the photo shoots
